About VolumeSnap
VolumeSnap simplifies volume calculation for archaeological objects, excavation features, containers, and irregular shapes. For vessels, users can trace one side of the internal profile and define the vessel’s central axis. VolumeSnap then reconstructs the rotational form and calculates its estimated internal capacity. For irregular features and polygonal shapes, users can trace the boundary, enter or define the depth, and calculate the estimated volume. The application is designed to replace time-consuming manual calculations with a clear, visual, and reproducible workflow. It can be used with photographs, scanned drawings, plans, and digital illustrations, provided that a reliable scale reference is available. VolumeSnap supports documentation and interpretation but does not replace direct physical measurement or specialist verification when laboratory-grade accuracy is required.
